I was told directly from Napa State Hospital there are no records on file from 1889-1927, other than possibly a brief death detail (which can be found on the death certificate) noted on a card in the Hospital system. There are no paper records for this time frame in existence. My ancestor was commited in 1889, per the death certificate, and resided in San Francisco prior to Napa Hospital. If anyone has any ideas on where to find commitment papers for San Francisco residents of 1889, other than the Napa State Hospital which have none, it would be great to hear their ideas. Thanks Robin
