#4 Laura Eveline Duggan b 31 Jan 1865 is my great grandmother. She married twice, had two sons who she abandoned, and did not acknowledge. She is buried in Olivet Memorial Park, Colma CA.

Gilbert, a resident of Sacramento, county of Sacramento, State of California, aged 27 years, and Laura E. Duggan, a resident of Sacramento, county of Sacramento, State of California, aged 19 years. In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Seal of the superior Court of the County of Sacramento, State of California, this 1st day ofAugust A.D. 1884."

It is certified "That I believe the facts stated on the above license to be true, and that upon due inquiry there appears to be no legal impediment to the marriage of said John B. 1889 moves to bigger house in Sacto and JBG hires Kate Kelly, bookkeeper [marries her Aug 1899 Alameda], Louis was 3 and Bov was 1

1890 JBG on Great register -- 24 Sept, lives 1015 8th

at some point Laura leaves the family, and she and JBG divorce

JBG buys and renames Scott & Gilbert Co. moves business and family to SF with Kate Kelly's family with him--her mom, Martha Jane (nee Waldron) Kelly Kinkead, as childminder; Louis was 6 and Bov was 4.
[note:I don't believe Laura is with them, but she may have moved out in SF not in Sacramento.] --Kate Kelly's 1/2 brother Calvin Kinkead brought the kids to see their mom now and again then the visits stopped

Laura never had other children, and she said 1900 census that she had never had any at all.

1895-1899
Laura works as a teacher in San Francisco until she remarries:
