Looking for Josie Melton Hardin aka Gay Hardin aka Mrs. John Hardin. Jose was born in Tennessee in about 1878. She married John Hardin July 12, 1897 in Parker County, Texas. I know that she was alive in the 1950's. In an obit for her sister Jennie, she is listed as living in San Bernardino. Aunt Gay had three chilrden (that I know of) - a son Ones Melvin who died in Oklahoma City in 1965, a daughter Rosalie or Rosa Lee who attended my great grandfathers funeral in 1965 and daughter Alta May or Altha May whose married named was Collins in the 1930 census. In the 1930 census Josie and Alta/Altha are living in Corpus Christie, Texas. John Hardin died sometime between 1923 and 1930 (place unknown). The family was listed in an Oklahoma City directory in 1921 and 1923.
