Helen Kathleen Melton, 71, of Lodi died Saturday, June 15, 2002, in a hospital. She was born September 10, 1930, in Stockton. She lived in Tracy before moving to Lodi 12 years ago. Melton worked in the medical field for 40 years, and her last job was with Lodi Memorial Hospital as a medical transcriptionist.

Survivors: children, Cynthia Quinn of Texas, Michael Melton of Stockton and Patricia Mauricio of Lodi; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Evergreen Chapel, Cherokee Memorial Park, East Harney Lane and Highway 99. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today, Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way. Memorials: American Cancer Society, 207 E. Alpine Ave., Stockton, CA 95204.
