Strather BUCKINGHAM was born 12 Jul 1881 in Mills Co, IA, a son of John L. & Amanda [CONNER] BUCKINGHAM; family moved to Hermosa, SD abt 1885; to Sutter Co, CA abt 1896. Unable to locate Strather with family in 1900 or 1910 Census. He is listed in 1920 Sutter Co. census with his wife Ivy, and family, and in 1930 Alameda Co census with his family. Does anybody have a clue about where he might have been in the two missing years. I have checked Sierra Co with his sister Annie PERFIELD, and San Diego with his sister Margaret RITCHIE

I could not locate the family 1900 and 1910. However, the voter’s registration index lists Strather as living in Sutter County 1902 through 1928. His WWI registration card states he was living in Yuba City, Sutter County as of Sept 1918. I spelled his name and hers every way I could think of. I would suggest that you request obituaries for the family and see if some background information is contained in those. The birth record for the children shows location and year of birth.
