"Richard Mack Dies Of Heart Attack
Richard Mack, 76 died Tuesday evening at the cabins just north of the Mealfalfa mill. He was foound in bed, the victim of a heart attack, having been in poor health for a long time and had recently suffered a stroke.
He was born in Illinois and moved to Owens district in 1877, where he graduated from the old Owens grammar school. Up until 21 years ago he ran a large restaurant in Davis, but upon the death of his wife in that place, moved to Dixon. He has taken care of the cabins situated on the old Union Oil station grounds for some time--whenever his health permitted.
He leaves one sister in Oakland, four nephews, Charles Mack of Esparto, and Oliver, Frank and Bert Mack of Dixon, and two nieces, Mrs. Katie Getchell of Oakland and Mrs. J. W. Davis of Dixon.
