Milton "Milt" Eaton, 63, of Escalon died Tuesday at his home.

Mr. Eaton was a native of Ruthven, Iowa. He lived in Escalon three years and previously lived in Ripon 15 years. He was a laser operator and had worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for 29 years. He also was a farmer and grew nuts. He was a member and in charge of finances of Ripon Free Methodist Church and a member of VIP, a volunteer organization of the Ripon Police Department. He enjoyed travel.

He is survived by his wife, Betsy Eaton of Escalon; children, David H. Eaton of Bend, Ore., and Rebecca M. Eaton of Modesto; mother, Julia Eaton of Turlock; and sister, Mildred Fenter of Turlock. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Lee Eaton; father, Claude Eaton; and two brothers.

A celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary Reformed Church, Ripon. Burial is private. Visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel.
