I am researching Edward Morris Short who was born in Missouri on 9 Mar 1871, moved at one point to Hotchkiss Co. In his brother's obit it listed him living there in 1944. I noticed there was a Edward M. Short born 9 Mar. 1871 and died 15 Aug. 1951 in Delta, Delta Co. I was wondering if anyone has him in their family tree or would know where he was buried or his obit. Joseph Willis Huey b. ABT 1843

This is my brick wall. I am looking for information on Willis or Joseph Huey. Not 100% sure of his name. My grandfather thought it might be Willis.
Willis Joseph Huey was born abt 1843 or 1846 in Alabama and died sometime before 1900 in Colorado. I was told this story by my grandparents (Wallace was Josephs grandson): "Joseph was good at geology. He migrated to Colorado and worked in mines. He had been called away to work in another mine and was never seen or heard from again. The family returned to Lindale, TX. He is listed with his family on the 1885 Mesa Colorado census. His wife Clementine is listed on the 1900 census in Lindale, Smith, Texas as a widow."
Facts are: (1) listed as Joseph Hewey on 1880 US Census in Tom Green County, Texas (age 37) with Clementine and 2 children. (2) Listed as J H Huey on 1885 Colorado State Census with N C Huey and children. (3)Listed as W. H. Hughey on marriage certificate to Narcissus Clementine Fleming Apr 29, 1871. (4) Listed as Willis Huey on Lillie June Huey Thomas (daughter) Death Certificate. (5) Listed as Joe Huey on Gussie Lee Huey (son) death certificate.
(6) Had 6 children: William Amos Huey b. 1874, Carrie Ola Huey (Goodman) b. 1879, Lillie June Huey (Thomas) b. 1885, Gussie Lee Huey b. 1887, Dasie Huey (Vaughn) b.1883, Thomas "TT" Huey b.1881.

2001, at Community Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 82.He was born on Oct. 16, 1918, in Jonesboro, Ark., to William Talmadge

and Virtie Ray (Brown) Southall.
He married Betty Taylor on Oct. 27, 1947, in Raton, N.M. She survives.

Mr. Southall served in the Air Force during World War II.

My maternal Great Grandfather was Matt McCallister. He lived in Delta County CO. He was first Married to Florence Head, then remarried.He and Florence had three children. Melford, Maxine, and Delma, all deceased.

Searching for any information regarding John and Albert Weeks (also spelled Weekes) known to be in Delta County from about 1910 until after 1930. I have found the cemetery information for John and his wife, Effie, in the Cory Cemetery...but I would like anything more that might be available. I can place Albert and his wife Emma in Eckert, Delta County in 1910...but I cannot find them after this period. I believe that John and Albert are brothers. It appears that John and his wife, Effie, had 2 children, Pearl and Dewey...and I would appreciate any information on these 2 children. I believe that John and Albert are my great- Uncles...but I have no direct information on them except what I have found through census records. I do know their parents were born in Wales. Any and all help appreciated!! Thank you.

Seeking information and perhaps a tombstone picture for Arthur H. Winegar, who lived in Delata COunty from about 1890's through his death. I know he was born in michigan, the son of Rueben and Esther Rowley Winegar. He was married to Elnora Bell Tyler, and they had at least one child, which I belive died in Delta County, Co. Possibly buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Charles is my great grandfather. He died in Calif. and William died in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I don't have anymore information on the others.

I am helping the museum in Durango, Colorado research pioneers in the area. I have the grave of an Edwin Southall here, who arrived in the area in 1884 from England. I have a short document I would be happy to share.
Don't know if this is the same Southall line or not. His father may have been Dudley Southall. His mother was married to a Darby before the Southall marriage.

In order to join DAR, I am desperately trying to find an obituary or death certificate for my g-g-grandmother. She was born in Indiana Aug. 7, 1845. Her first husband was murdered in 1883 and at some point she moved to Paonia, Delta County, Colorado. I believe she married M C Murray and I have a death date of Jan. 4, 1926. Her name would be Catherine Murray, or Catherine Beaver/Bever, if she didn't remarry. Her maiden name was Gillam. Any information or help on where to search would be greatly appreciate.

The online index for Cedar Hill Cemetery, Paonia, Delta County, CO at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~codelta/
does list an Arthur Winegar 1859-1939. He's the only Winegar listed though. I checked the online indexes for the eastern part of Delta County: Bethlehem Cemetery in Paonia and the Crawford Cemetery in Crawford and there were no Winegar's listed there. The Hotchkiss Cemetery isn't indexed online to my knowledge.

Thinking further on the child that died:
Did the Winegar's come west twice? (lots of folks did). The Census records shows:
1900 Cook Co, IL Nora--mother of one child, none living.
1910 Delta Co, CO Mother of one child, none living.

Per census, they married between c1894-95
Per census, the child died before Jan 1 1900
On Jan 1 1900 they are listed in Cook Co, IL.

Possible match:
The IL Statewide Death Index pre1916 lists a
Winegar, Emery died 24 Feb 1899 in Chicago, Cook Co, age 5yrs.

I just did a quick check via ancestry.com and discovered we are not talking about the same person. The Holybee mentioned born Oct 6, 1911 is child (Lorenzo E.) of Hezakiah & Augusta. Eugene A. is not a child of them I don't believe. Eugene A. is listed in the California Death Index, 1940-1997 as being born Nov 18, 1904 in Colorado and dying Jul 24, 1980 at Fresno, CA. This record lists his mother's maiden name as Mullinex. Doing ancestry.com research shows many other's with Holybee surname in Delta Co, CO at the same time.

We have Holybee's in our file. Frances Strange Holybee (wife of Cyrus) was second cousin to our dad. We have quite a few names and info in our file we will share - mostly from census documents.
