Obit: Catherine Sybilla (NEEB) SCHAFFER (1858-1941)

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the Martin Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Catherine Schaffer of Grand Junction, who died in Denver Tuesday.

The Rev. T. Wobus will officiate, and burial will be in the Municipal Cemetery beside the body of her husband, William L. Schaffer, who died here a number of years ago. The body will arrive on the Mountaineer Thursday.

Mrs. Schaffer is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Katharine Oyler of Grand Lake and Mrs. Lilah Sarles of Silverton, who were to arrive here Wednesday.

SCHAFFER RITES HELD HERE THURSDAY

Services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from Martin’s drawing room for the late Mrs. Catherine Schaffer, widow of William L. Schaffer. She passed away Monday in Grand Lake, where she had resided since 1930.

Mrs. Schaffer was born June 12, 1858, in Wisconsin and in later life made this city her home for 20 years. In 1930 the family removed to Grand Lake, where Mr. Schaffer passed away in 1931. Deceased was a member of the Lutheran church and the Royal Neighbors.

Yesterday’s service was conducted by the Rev. T. Wobus, with burial in the Municipal Cemetery.

the surviving children are Mrs. W.F. Schmidt, Los Angeles; Mrs. W.C. Deich, Limon, Colo.; Mrs. Glen Cheatham, White, S.D.; Mrs. George Abernathy, Denver; John C. Schaffer, Denver; Mrs. C.O. Sears, Ashland, Ore.; Mrs. M.R. Sarles, Silverton, Colo.; William H. Schaffer, Santa Ana, Calif.; Mrs. W.C. Allen, Salt Lake City; Marvin C. Schaffer, Tabernash, Colo., and Mrs. T.T. Oyler, Grand Junction. One son, Walter, preceded her in death in 1920.

A sister, Mrs. E.J. Minges, Miami, Fla., also survives her.
