Betty Roberts, 60, of Montrose, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1988 in St. Mary's Hospital at Grand Junction following a long illness.
       
 Family viewing will be held Monday, Feb. 8 from 5 to 6 p. m. at Montrose Valley Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted by Minister Lloyd McMillan, Northeast Christian Church of Grand Junction, Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 2 p. m. from the Montrose Christian Church. Interment will be in Grand View Cemetery, with Montrose Valley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family has suggested that contributions in Mrs. Roberts [sic] memory be made to the Cancer Society through St. Mary's Hospital at Grand Junction.
        
Born May 25, 1927 at Montrose, Betty Jacobsen was the daughter of Nels W. and Clarissa (Carkhuff) Jacobsen. She spent her childhood and attended school at Montrose. She was a lifetime Colorado resident, residing in the Colona community since 1950. Mrs. Roberts was a homemaker.
        
On Dec. 31, 1944, she was married to Russell Roberts at Olathe. In addition to her husband, she is survived by six sons: Rusty Roberts, Meeker; David Roberts, Fruita; Steve Roberts and Kieth Roberts, both of Montrose; Daniel Roberts, Colorado Springs; and Chris Roberts, Denver. There are 11 grandchildren.  Also surviving is one brother, Don Jacobsen of Montrose. She was preceded in death by her parents.
        
Mrs. Robert's special interest were [sic] her grandchildren and family, gardening, needlework, reading and arrowhead hunting.
