My father told me that my Grandparents 'landed' in Del Norte, CO. My grandfather was Francisco 'Frank' GALLEGOS and my grandmother was Reyes DURAN. My father was Alfirio 'Al' Ignacio GALLEGOS born July 28, 1928. He was 12 of 13 Gallegos children. Reyes was my grandfather's second wife - the first was her sister 'Erminda' (I believe this is the spelling) who passed away. He then married Reyes.

I don't know when my grandparents were born -- probably around 1885-1890??? Nor do I have the names of my great-grandparents.

My father was born in Capulin, CO - which is located in Conejos County. This is where his family lived as farmers after leaving Del Norte. My father also said Grandpa Frank was a Sheriff for awhile -- I don't know if it was in Del Norte or Capulin -- but I do have a picture of him wearing a Sheriff's badge before 1928!
