Wool processor Robert Ernest Marquez, 55, Center, died Jan. 15, 1993 at the San Luis Valley regional Medical Center in Alamosa.
He was born June 1, 1937, in Fort Lupton to Juan Andreas and Maria Constancia Lucero Marquez. On Nov. 19, 1958. he married Dorothy Vigil, who survives in the family home. Mr. Marquez had lived in center since he was 7 years old. For the past 27 years, he had worked as a wool processor for Edwards and Co. in Center.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, fourwheeling and outdoor sports. Also surviving are three sons, Robert Marquez Jr., of Longmont, John Marquez and, Leonard Marquez both of Center; a daughter, Julie Sisneros of Center; a sister, Louise Marquez of Denver; and seven grandchildren.
Services were Jan. 18 at St. Frances Jerome Catholic Church in Center, with the Rev. Jesse Perez officiating. Burial was in La Garita Cemetery, Pallbearers were Danny Cordova, Gilbert Marquez, Modesto Medina, Duane Valdez, Charlie Valdez, Celso Ruiz and Jim Grimaldo, Honorary pallbearers were Michael Sisneros, Christopher Sisneros, Leonard Marquez, and Robert Jason Marquez.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, in care of Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, Monte Vista, which was in charge of the arrangements.
