Thanks agian for the information, but nothing Nancy posted refers to my gggrandfather Amos. I know Jane and Zella have death certificates stating their father was born in CT, but this is not correct and the census documents verify that he was born in NY, as was Suzanna. It seems that over time people are not clear where their ancestors were born and I suspect that this is the case with his two daughters. It's a shame there are not more male descendents, but only Horace survived to reproduce and there are no other family members to verify antecedents.
But again, thanks for the help. If you can locate where Amos and Suzanna were married that would be a great help. Regards, Roberta
