Michael Daly 1818-1891 married Ellen Connell 1823-1894 in Ireland and sometime after 1865 settled in the New London and Waterford, Ct. region. Their children included Mary Ellen m. James Devine; Margaret m. Patrick O'Sullivan; John J. m. Hannah Sherry; Ellen m. John Cotter & Pat Magner; Thomas E. m. Rose McIntyre & Mrs. Campbell; Frances m. Walter Courtney; and Patrick, Elizabeth, Bartholomew (who didn't marry).

Michael Daly died in a fire that destroyed the Hotel at 34 1/2 State St., New London, Ct. in April, 1891 owned by son,
