Thank you so much for posting Laura's obituary! Now I know more about her, including where she is buried. I have now checked Grove Hill cemetery on FindAGrave, and while she's not listed there, I see that it is the same cemetery where her uncle William Wallace Robertson is buried, which makes sense, as he and his family lived in Rockville.
Thank you also for the link to the cemetery stone for William J Carey and his family. I had no idea he had been widowed prior to marrying Laura, nor was I aware that he had children. Perhaps she and his children did not get along, and that's what caused the marriage to fail. As near as I can tell, the marriage would have been in 1908 or 1909 (she shows married 1 year in April 1910)and they were obviously no longer together by April 1910, as he (and daughter Hazel) were living with his brother and he was listed as "widowed", as though never married to Laura. I'm guessing they were together much less than a year.
Anyhow, thanks again for your help! Much appreciated!
