I have visited the cemetary of Saint Patrick's at Ashland, New Castle County, Delaware. The last time( 10 years ago?) I visited some of the stones were missing. On my earlier trips Peter, Martha and Charles Connell I destinctly remember as being at the back of the cemetary. Earlier there used to be a beautiful white with green trim Saint Patricks Church but has since been torn down.
I do recall seeing a survey map published in the late 1800's of that hundred with the Connell family at Ashland. This is a pure quess on my part but I suspect both the cemetary and the church property were once part of the Connell farm.
It is interesting to note that the Connell family pretty quickly lost its Catholicism. It is said of Charles Barrington Connell's chldren that the girls retained the religion but all the boys lost it and that would in my granfather Robert Lee Connell son of Charles Barrington Connell
