George Claude Hyde of Trenton died Sunday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 65.

Mr. Hyde was a painter.

Born in Grand Rapids, Mich., he moved seven years ago to Trenton.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Hyde belonged to the Chiefland chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Newberry chapter of the American Legion. He was a protestant, an avid fisherman and a collector of John Wayne memorabilia.

He was preceded in death his son, Albert Fairbrother.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia of Trenton; his stepmother, Agnes of Napa, Idaho; two daughters, Lori of Bell and Phyllis of Saginaw, Mich.; a step-sister, Mary Alice of Napa; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
