Classification: Query
Surnames: COOK, SENNETT, CLARE, NARIN, RABEN, WRIGHT, GARRET, CHATTERTON, CARR, MATZ, MENNINGER, HAIG, BAKER, COVINGTON, SMITH,
This may be a strange way to do this search, but not too many people are left that may have any other info to help.
My name is Virginia Carr Martinez, daughter of Virginia Cook Carr, who was daughter of Chester Cook of OH & FL.
He died New Years Day, in the fifties.
He had a sister Estelle, who married Uncle Oakie and Had a daughter - Dorothy?. I think Dorthy married a Covington. They had a daughter who married a Chatterton/Chattington?.
My mother, Virginia Cook knew these women, but I knew only Estelle. Either Dorthy or her daughter opened a shop in Miami named Crickets or Krickets Dress Shop, or something like that.
My cousin Kathleen, daughter of Ruth Cook who was daughter of the other twin, said they also opened a shop in the Bahamas or the Carribian.
No one seems to know what happened to this folks. Uncle John saw them in Miami a few years ago, but he has had several strokes and doesn't travel as much any more.
Estelle had 2 sisters, Ada & Hattie. Hattie was the oldest, than Ada, than the twins, than Estelle and than James, the son whose daughter and grandchild were in THE GREAT CINCINNATI PLANE CRASH in the 60's.
Names I know connected to family were:
GOODE(great-grandma E.Cooks maiden)COOK, SENNETT, CLARE, Covington, CHATTERTON, HAIG, Carr, MATZ, GARRETT, I don't know Ada's married name, but she had son Theareau?, and lived in Florida. Hattie lived in NewJersey for years before coming back to OH. The twins both died in Florida, Stelle stayed in OH/KY area and James moved around for awhile, and than came back to OH.
If anyone recognizes the name of this dress shop and knows of the lady that owns it, please respond to me at:

I spent many a day at great-grandpa Charles house with him in his chair in his yard, and with Estelle and her husband, with Hattie both at her shop/home in NewJersey, and in OH. I met Ada once or twice down in Florida, and I don't ever remember meeting James. We live in Chicago.
Kathleen(of Ruthie), Diana(of Mildred Sedalia), Grace of Chuck, Virginia(Ginny) of Virginia, Billy's kids and John's daughters would all like to know more about their OHIO relatives.
