Does anyone know if there is a headstone survey of the Old Town Cemetery. I am researching Rebecca Lee who married ?? Green possible in Taylor Co, FL. Rebecca was born in Florida and died in O'brien, Suwannee Co, FL. They had William M. (?Franklin?) Green, their only child. He was born 1883 and died 1963, married Virginia Roxy (Ann) McEwen?, McQuen?, McQueen? around 1901. Virginia was born 24 Dec 1882 in Oldtown, FL. She died 1957. Both are buried at Forest Grove Cemetery, Alachua Co, FL. It is possible that Virginia had a step-brother named Mitchell Tucker.

Need some help please:

I am hoping someone can direct me to either a person or a source of information on Old Town or New Troy in 1870 -1910.

There is family new to the area in 1870 that I am trying to rule in or out as the parent and siblings of my great-grandfather.
Someone was kind enough to give me marriage information from a book by a a Mr. Paulk.
I believe the title is: Early Marriages of Lafayette Co., Fl., but I'm not sure.
The information I received was: a James R. Cooper married a MaryEtta Gillett 7 Apr 1875 in Lafayette Co., FL

1. Could you please tell me how to locate a copy of this book?

2. Where to find other sources of information on people living in Old Town or New Troy at this time.

3. What cemeteries are in or around those two cities. I can find no record of a burial for a Robert Cooper who died there in 1893 or his widow Nancy Cooper; who is living next door to E. L. Cottrell in 1900 with her daughter and son-in-law:
Allan and India Anderson.
E.L.Cottrell signed an affidavit for her for a CSA Widows Pension in 1909.
4. Roberts' 14 y/o daughter Sarah "Sallie" married 31 y/o J?Jonathan Cribbs
about 1875.
5. (2) Cooper families in the area at same time, both have sons James R.Cooper born abt same time (1852-1855).
I need to place my great-grandfather with the right family.

Thank You In Advance For Your Help

Sheryl Cooper Hicks
Any help; any suggestions really appreciated.
Looking for Great Aunt Bertha Kidwell Gray!!!

I know that Florida is a large state, but I'm still searching for my great aunt Bertha Kidwell Gray.

I know that Bertha lives with her daughter and family somewhere in Florida. Bertha's parents were Charles and Nora Belle Pennell who were married in Cumberland Maryland in 1904. Bertha had many brothers and sisters including my grandfather Earl Kidwell Sr. Her only living sibling is Leroy, who resides in Ohio.

Before moving to Florida to live with her daughter, she was from Pennsylvania and still has a son living there. Bertha has also gone blind - which I fear is hereditary though irrelevant. Bertha's late husbands name is James Gray.

This is as much information that I can possibly provide. My Kidwell family claims to not know how to contact her. I'm 29 years old and as my oldest living relative, I would love to get the wonderful chance to get to know her before it's too late.

Please reply if you have any information. THANKS!

Can anyone tell me if there is a survey of that cemetery, or if someone can find Mary A. Roebuck's parent's names? My tree stops at them and I have been searching for many years for this information.

He was buried near Horseshoe Beach and supposedly had a large commerative stone.
Billy had the following known children: James Ottis; Betty, Niven and other siblings names not remembered.
Billy was born circa 1848, James Ottis was born 1898.
It is believed that Billy served in the 7th Florida Infantry. This is not confirmed however since the records show a number of William Rollison/Rawlerson/Raulersons serving in different companies within the 7th Infantry.
Thanks

Hello. I am a historian (PhD student) at FSU in Tallahassee. I am beginning a research project on the Horshoe beach area in the early 20th Century (1900-1930). This is also doubling as research into my mother's family, the Kights. (as well as the Keens). Does anyone know where the communities of Shelton and Fishbone were? Shelton shows up in the 1930 census in Dixie County, and FIshbone shows up in the 1920 census in Lafayette? Are there any online maps for these counties in the 1920s or 1930s? Thank you.
Dave

I am searching for information on Lelia and Hubert (Hub)Stephenson.Lelia (Page) Stephenson born in July 1897, Live Oak, Florida. It was told to me she passed away in Cross City in 1956 0r 1957. She had live in Perry or Cross City the majority of her life.
Hub Stephenson, I have no information on except he was to have passed away a little later than Lelia.I have searched the Florida death index with no success.
These two people are "suppose" to be buried in the Cross City Cemetery.
Is there anyone that might be able to check on this information? I have been told there is a headstone. One with Lelia's picture on it. I am hoping to find the dates of death and hopefully a pic of the headstone.
Thanks in advance for all the assistance,
Frank
