I'm trying to find out if my great grandparents were married in Hernando Co. Leonard Strozier BRADHAM b.1844-45 in SC and Mary Jane ELLIS b.1848 Sumter Co.,FL. He served in Co.I 23rd Reg. SC Vol."Hatch's Regiment Coast Rangers" and I suppose went to FL right after the Civil War. I don't know who his parents are. Mary Jane ELLIS is the daughter of James E.ELLIS b.1817 Ireland & Jane GODWIN b.1827 GA (I think Ware Co.) I know that Leonard Strozier BRADHAM and Mary Jane (ELLIS) BRADHAM lived in Hernando Co in 1880's in the 60th Enumeration Dist.(8th Election Dist)[where is this?]. Their next door neighbors were: J.W.WEDIN & family and Jonathon SHIRLEY & family. Other members of my family lived very close: GODWIN and ELLIS. Also in the 1880 Hernando Co Census was a C.L.BRADHAM (Caroline L.ROGERS BRADHAM)b.SC and widow of Henry BRADHAM b.FL(or SC)(killed in the Civil War). I REALLY NEED HELP with this!! I want to know if my gr.grandparents were married in Hernando Co., If Leonard Strozier BRADHAM filed for a Civil War Pension in this county, and if anyone knows anything about the BRADHAM families, and where the 8th Election Dist. was (near what town).
