After speaking with the head of the genealogy department at the John Germany Hillsborough county main library branch I found you can get copies of obits listed in TRAILS directly by the following ways.
Email the genealogy department directly - LIBfirstname.lastname@example.org
Calling (813) 273-3630.
that line goes directly to the genealogy desk instead of the main desk.
This is much easier and faster than going through inter library loan.
You will need to have the TRAILS information before contacting the genealogy department.
If you are not familiar with Trails, it is an index of obituaries list in the Tampa Tribune newspaper. The index will give you the name, date and page number of the obituary.
To get to the TRAILS search page you need to go to the Hillsborough county library website and choose Search the Catalog.http://catalog.hcplc.org/polaris/search/default.aspx?type=Ad...
Type your keywords (names, dates, places, etc) in the blank boxes. Under the Keywords area you will see a USING box. The default will show PAC but you need to click on the arrow pointing down and choose TRAILS from the drop down menu.
Hope this helps fellow researchers.
