I am trying to learn more about James A. Brown who appears to have been born in SC, lived in GA for a while and moved to Leon County about 1843. His first child who seems to have been born in FL was Nancy A. Brown who married David W. Levy in Leon County in 1870. Nancy died in Polk County, FL in 1934.
Mr. Brown seems to have lived in Leon County until about 1880 when he appears in Manatee County, FL with a wife and one of his sons, Miles. A. Brown.
I am trying to prove precisely when Mr. Brown settled in Leon County.
A side note he had two sons Barney and Council F. Brown who died in Polk County, FL. Neither of these sons lived long enough to get a certificate of death in FL.
Any help is appreciated.
