I know NOTHING about Max W, Simmons. I can find no records that he ever existed. He is listed as the deceased husband( born in Towanda, PA) on the passport application of Lottie Lee Simmons, nee Larner. Their child, May Cosse (or Cossie) Simmons was born 14 Dec 1889. None of them are found in the 1900 Federal Census Records. In the 1930 Federal Census, May lists her father's place of birth as Alabama. I do know that the Larner family (and perhaps the Simmons family) had relatives in Havana, Cuba and perhaps that is where they were at that time. I cannot find a Max W. Simmons, or any variation on the name, that could be the father of May. In the 1910 Federal Census, both Lottie Simmons and May Simmons are found in the household of Charlotte Larner (Lottie's mother) in Key West. May Simmons is listed as a widow. Did Max ever really exist? Did he always live in Central America (after his birth in Towanda, PA) and that is why I can't find him? Are there any records I can search if that is the case?
