Dock and Eli each homesteaded 80 acre plats in Volusia County (documentation shows they were offically surveyed/recorded in 1883. Volusia County shows marriage of Eli Barrentine to Martha Reid Oct.4,1879, and Celia Barrentine to Henry Jackson Kirkland in May 3, 1877. Family documents and recordings show Eli married to Octavia Chant, daughter of Henry and Emma Chant. They had children Cora, George (born Dec. 16,1888), Elizabeth (born July 15, 1890), Edgar (born Oct. 11, 1891), Grace (born Nov. 21, 1893), and Hugh (born March 1, 1901).
