Classification: Query
Surnames: Mounger
My name is Neal Griffin, and I am researching the 9th Georgia Infantry Regiment, CSA. In the Mounger family from Brooks County, the father, Lt. Col. John C. Mounger was KIA leading the 9th Georgia at the Wheatfield in Gettysburg, 2 July 1863. Another son, Lt. Terrell Mounger was killed leading the 14th Georgia at Chancellorsville in May of 1863. The two remaining sons, Lt. John Mounger and Pvt. Tom Mounger were killed at The Wilderness in June of 1864. This was the entire male line of the Mounger family. I have some of the letters from the Moungers online at:

Any assistance on information for this family will be greatly appreciated!
