I am a native of Burke County. Bargeron and Hargrove were familiar names around Munnerlyn, GA, when I grew up there in the 1940's and 1950's. As I recall, a man named Bargeron owned a small country store in Munnerlyn that I purchased jaw breakers (hard candy)and Johnny Cake crackers from on my way home from Fellowship School.
More importantly, though, one Brinson, Douglas (son of Elvira Bell Brinson Landing), is my grand father, and owner of the farm I grew up on. My question to you is: Do you have any documents or land records that would shed light on who owned the property before Douglas Brinson purchased it in 1906 from the Bank of Waynesboro? If I knew that, it would help me to better trace the route of my ancestors on my grandmother's side of my family (who were slaves)from Abbeville, South Carolina, in 1777 to the farmland in Burke County purchased by Douglas.
Thanks.
