Hello my name is Christina Nava. My maternal grandmother was Gloria Simons (maiden name was Campbell) I have a family history book and it shows that we are related to William Parker Campbell and his father. If there is any information that you would like to know please do not be afraid to ask. I am very interested in tracing the Campbell name back further than the Revolutionary War.

I'm searching for documentation re: Joseph Howell - will, property deeds, etc.

* family originates in North Carolina
1830 - resident of Campbell County, next-door to Isaac Howell, probable son
1835 - died in Campbell County
* family continues to Alabama & Texas

Most of my work directly with county offices has involved small counties. I live in Dallas County and the Dallas County office is completely different from rural offices. I assume Fulton County will be similar to Dallas. Does anyone have any tips for contacting Fulton County for this kind of request?

~ Amy

I am thinking that it is possible that Jack and Nancy Speir may be Zachariah and possibly his second wife. There was a Zach Speir who married a Nancy Stanford on July 26, 1885 in Fayette County, GA. Zach first wife would have been Eliza Rivers, if this is indeed the same person. Zach and Eliza had Robert H. born 1871, Rebeca J. born 1872, Sarah C. born 9/6/1877, Addie born 3/1880 and Martha b. 1882. I found them on the 1880 census in but after that no more Zach. Somehas posted that he died in 1937 in Palmetto, Fulton County, GA but I have not found him in any census records, nor did I find Nancy. There isn't a confederate pension record either. So I am at a dead end here. I wonder if your ancestory could possible be the step sister of our ancestory Sallie. Would appreciate your thoughts on this

Searching for any information on the Bivins (Bivens) families living in Palmetto in the 1880 census. Particularly searching for the name of the father of Burke and Jefferson Bivins (Bivens). Their mother's name was Jane and was noted as being a widow in the census. They lived next door to William and Martha Bivins - probably the father's brother, although he could be the brother of Burke and Jefferson. Burke married Julia Hembree in 1888 in Douglas Georgia. I cannot locate them in the 1870 census in Carroll/Douglas/Campbell Counties. Any help appreciated.

Mr. Powell:
Just saw this with no response.
Campbell County was merged with Fulton County in 1932. The deed & Estate records for Campbell County are now in the offices of the Superior Court & office of the Probate Court of Fulton County.
Also, the Atlanta historical Society is the custodian of the remaining records of Campbell County and I refer you to their website.

Good huntin'
Frank May

Lewis Clark (b. 1823 Putnam Co, GA, d. aft 1910 Campbell Co, GA)

I am trying to find death and burial information on Lewis Clark who was still living in Campbell Co, GA in 1910 (age 87 years).

I have searched FindAGrave.com and FamilySearch.org, but have not found anything useful.

According to information from his Confederate Pension Application, he was born in Putnam Co, GA on 5 Feb 1823.

He was married to Nancy A Brooks abt 1853, probably in Jasper Co, GA. I have not yet been able to locate a marriage record.

He served in Company F, 66th Infantry Regiment Georgia as both a corporal and sergeant.

Since I cannot locate him on the 1920 census, I assume he died sometime between 1910 and 1920. I have also not been able to locate his wife on a 1920 census. I presume that she also died sometime between 1910 and 1920.

Does anyone have any information on the burial location or dates of death for either Lewis or Nancy?

Info on John William Taylor

I am looking for John William Taylor's (1848-1930)parents. He lived and died in Campbell County, GA. Sometimes it was Coweta County during his life. I have records of him during the Civil War but none before that. If anyone has any info on him I would great appreciate it. He was first married to Mary Henderson Taylor from 1868 to 1900 and then to Mary Elizabeth (Mamie) Hunt Jackson Taylor from 1900 until his death in 1930.

Thanks again for your quick response. This is how I have it figured out
My Julia Octavia Stewart was the daughter of John Gurley Stewart and Julia A. Teal. Julia A. Teal, born 1844 in Georgia, was the daughter of Allen Teal, born about 1826 in Georgia, and Elizabeth Black, born about 1822 in Georgia. Allen Teal is the son of George Washington Teal and Sarah Elizabeth Little.
My problem is that Julia A. Teal was born before Allen and Elizabeth were married and I'm trying to figure how she is related to one or the other of them.
I found a Julia Black living with William L and Katherine A McClure on the 1850 census and thought maybe she was living with them but not their child. Especially since her mother's last name was Black.
The two sisters Reuben and James married, Sarah & Mary Ellen, were the daughters of Allen & Elizabeth Teal - 1860 & 1870 census records.
Yes, they did reside in Pittsburg, Camp, Texas. Julia O was a boarder with her grandfather, Allen Teal, her sister, Mary McClure, Mary's daughter, and several others in 1900. Julia A Teal died 22 Oct 1895 in Pittsburg, TX.

I have an Allen Teal, b abt 18245 married to Elizabeth Black. He the son of George Washington Teal of Paulding Co and Sarah Elizabeth Little.
He married Elizabeth Black 1819-1880 ?? probably buried in Camp Co. TX. That is where Ruben Beavers and James S McClure lived. I'm not sure - this short line is not connected - but I think G W. Teal might have been the father of the two Teal girls who married the McClure boys.
Where did you find Julia?
William McClures. There is more than one. One was the son of Hugh McClure b 1849. I have nothing at all on him.
William McClure, Hugh's father.
William McClure, son of John T and grandson of Hugh McClure. I have this Wm as born unknown but married to Catherine Black.

Thank you very much. Do you know anything about William L McClure and Katharine Adeline McClure having a child by the name of Julia Black? This according to the 1850 Georgia - Campbell - District 10 census.

My situation is complicated as my husband's great grandmother, Julia A. Teal, was the "daughter" of Allen and Elizabeth Black Teal but Julia was born 8 years (1844) before they married. So I'm assuming that Elizabeth had her either by a previous marriage or out of wedlock. That's why, when I found a Julia Black living with the William McClure's on the 1850 census, and Allen and Elizabeth's daughters marrying a McClure, I'm thinking there may be some connection. It's definitely a big puzzle. Any ideas?? Thanks again for your help.

I might be able to help you some with that. Ruben Beavers McClure was named for his uncle Ruben Crawford Beavers who married Jane McClure, daughter of William McClure (178-1849). Ruben Beavers McClure was the son of Hugh McClure, son of William McClure. He married Sarah Frances Teal in 1847 and relocated to Pittsburg Tx. James S. McClure was also a son of Hugh and moved to Pittsburg, TX. He married Mary Ellen "Molly" Teal.
James 4/1/1854 - 2/3/1885
Molly 4/18/1859 - 9/1925

Ruben B McClure 4/12/1840 - 1/23/1913
Sara 9/15/1853- 7/6/1940
They are all buried in Pittsburg, TX
