Searching for the children of Peter Etris and Alcey Mills Morris Etris name has been misspelled on just about everything that you can find on them.
1840 They were in Walker County, Ga before it became Catoosa
County, Georgia. 1860 Census Catoosa County, listed them as Etras. Children were :
William Henry Ettres born abt 1828 md a S.A. listed on the 1860 Census I don't know who S. A. was.
Isaac Etris born abt 1830,no other information on him.
Jonathan S. Etris born abt 1830 married Mary Lou Whitten
listed on 1860 Census as J. Etras with his mother A. Etras age 60 and his sister M. A. Etras born abt 1835 who married a W.P. Pursley in Catoosa County in 1867.
Robert Etris born 1837 he was listed on the 1860 census in Walker Co. living in the household of J. Cordell. He married Elizabeth Cordell in 1860 in Catoosa County.
Joseph Etris born 1840 no other information on him.
Alexander Aters born abt 1828/1832 married in Talladega Co, Al. to Mary Rosanna Kilpatrick in 1850, died in 1862 on leave from the Civil-war in Calhoun Co,Al.
Hardena Etris born abt 1824 married John Sansing several of their children married in Catoosa Co.
Wm Henry Ettres and Robert Ettres were in Company F 39th Reg. Ga. Vol. Inf. Army of Tenn. Csa. Catoosa County, Georgia. Robert Ettres died in Chattanooga, Tenn in 1862.
He had one son Joseph Aters in Walker County, Ga. many of his descendants still live there.
