Ross,
There were very few newspapers in the period from 1808 to 1820 in this section of Georgia. News was often run in nearby counties.
Many old Georgia newspapers are on microfilm at the Geogia Department of Archives and History.
I own a book titled " Clarke County (Athens) Georgia Newspaper Abstracts 1808-1820". The only mention of Solomon Ray is relative to land sale.
Georgia Express, Vol. IV No. 202, Friday, June 5,1812, Item 813, page # 142
Coroner's Sale - On the first Tuesday in July next, at the courthouse in Clarke County, Will be sold 337 - 1/2 acres in the fork of the North and Middle Oconee, whereon Solomon Ray lived. The whole of the above property levied on as the property of Jack A. Cocke, to satisfy an execution the state of Georgia vs said Cocke and others.
