Anyone know anything about my great-great-great grandfather McDonald BOOTH? He was born 1837 in Ware Co.(possibly the part that is now Clinch). I have a hunch that he may have been illegitimate with a Booth mother and a McDonald father. I've exhausted the resources I have (census', Huxford's PWG and others) concerning the Booths/McDonalds of south Georgia and have come up with nothing as to his parentage. Below is a sketch I've prepared for Huxford's PWG vol. 11 which details what I know of McDonald and family.

MCDONALD M. BOOTH, was born 10/1837 in Ware County, Georgia. He married (1) Rebecca unknown, b. 1837. He married (2) Carrie Lyles, 3/13/1889. McDonalds parentage is unknown. He had at least one sibling named John R. Booth, b. 1834.
McDonald enlisted as a private on August 15, 1861 in the Confederate States Army, Company F (Okefenokee Rifles), 26 Volunteer Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry. . He was appointed 3rd Sergeant May 8, 1862. He was wounded at 2nd Battle of Manassas, Va. August 28, 1862, captured at Winchester, Va. September 19, 1864 and released at Point Lookout, Md. June 24, 1865. After the war McDonald settled in Nassau County, FL where he was during the 1870 census. He later returned to Charlton County where he married his second wife Carrie Lyles in 1899.
