My great-great-great grandfather William Mathews, b. 1791
in Edgefield District SC, married Sarah Ann Nutival (unsure
of spelling - possible Neufvile, Nutterville, Nutiville),
b. 1794, in 1815. They moved to Crawford Co., Ga., in 1832.
William died in 1847 and was buried at Providence Church.
Sarah remarried to a Calhoun. She died in 1878 and was also
buried at Providence Church. I believe her gravemarker has
"Sallie Calhoun".
William and Sarah had four children. Samuel died in the
Mexican War. Nancy, married Patterson. Martha, married
Harris (remained in Crawford Co.?). James Madison, my
great-great grandfather, married Mary Jane Preston in
1843. They moved to Dale Co., Ala., in 1851.
Have info on James and Mary's issue. Any other information
would be appreciated.
