Surnames: Scarborough, Harp, Bass
I was visiting the grave of my gggrandmother, Doresia Ellender Bass Harp, who is buried in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery off of Route 27 in Dooly County. In going to her grave I came across a signpost that said "Scarborough Plantation Road." This piqued my interest. My gggggrandparents were James Harpe and Olive Scarborough, who were pioneer settlers of Sumter County. Nothing is known about either of their antecedents, but family lore has it that Olive came from a prominent family. I was wondering if anyone had any information on Scarborough Plantation Road and the family or place it is named after. That might provide a link to who Olive was. Please reply to me at wjharp@aol.com.

Many thanks,

Jim Harp
