RIVERVIEW, FLA. – A homegoing celebration will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the Rivers of Life Church Ministries, 301 Lakewood Drive in Brandon, Florida for Mrs. Grace Davis, 88, who departed this life on Thursday, June 7, 2012, in her sleep at Brandon Rehabilitation Center.

Grace was born on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 1923, in Albany, Ga., to the late Milton and Classie Edwards Jordan.
She moved to Youngstown,Ohio in 1924, as an infant with her family.

She was a graduate of East High School.

She began her spiritual journey at the New Hope Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board.

She was employed by Towel Supply until her retirement.

She relocated to Tampa, Fla. in 1991, with her husband, Joseph Davis, whom she married on Nov. 22, 1948, and passed away on Oct. 23, 1999.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Lisa Goldberg-Kandawalla of Riverview; two sisters, Juanita Vaughn and Joyce Vickers, both of Youngstown, OH; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Davis; four sisters, Ida Bell “Dessie” Pearson-Lane, Johnnie Mae “Peachie” Heard, Melvina Walker and Christine Paige; and two brothers, Ceasar “Buddy” and Leonard Jordan.
