I have not been doing any research in the past few years. I just found your email from 2005 concerning John F. Pickron. I had been trying to find out more information about him. I did not realize that he had been married 3 times. I am a great grand daughter of Sam L. PIckron. I believe he was a son of John F. Pickron. I did realize that he married Susan Jane Tabb and his sister, Lucy married Susan's brother. My gradnfather was Raleigh E. Pickron, son of Sam L. Pickron and Mina Dawson Pickron. I am trying to find information on how these people died. I believe John F. Pickron died of consumption. Any information avilable would be of great interest to me.

Marya M.

Linda,I grew up on that side of town and I think that the school you are talking about is either Radium Springs Elem. or Mock Road Elem. These are the 2 schools that were closest to the Marine Base. The Marine Base is still there altho the Air Force Base shut down and the Navy came in,they also shut down the Navy Base in the 70's and it sat vacant for a long time till the city started doing something with the land and a lot of big business's came in and started up. If you might be looking for someone that you went to school with I might be able to help you,you can contact me at ourfamilytree4u@yahoo.com. I am also an admin for a school website called classreport.org.This is for the high schools. My class is Dougherty High School class of 76. This site is world wide so check out the site for the school you went to and see if it is there...if not then contact the owners and they will add it.

POW/MIA Korean War, Dougherty Co. ROBERT FRAZIER

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. When he entered service he gave Dougherty County GA as his home of record.

Soldier: ROBERT FRAZIER
Born: May 15, 1932, Black
Date of loss: November 7, 1952, Missing in Action in North Korea. His remains were never recovered

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. There are 70families in Ohio that have not been located. There is one family from Dougfherty County that has not been located.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
