Classification: Query
Surnames: Eason
Hello, saw your query on Eason of Fayette Co., GA. In response to your question re: an 'older' Abraham Eason, it would seem that there was an Abraham, Sr. and an Abraham, Jr. The 1790 South Carolina Census lists only one Eason,
Abraham, in the Orangeburg Dist. His household included three free white males 16+ and 2 free white females. The
1800 SC Census index lists four Easons: James,in Pen.Dist.,
and the other three in Orangeburg Dist.: Abraham, George, and William. I believe Abraham was the father of my GGG-Grandfather, Thomas Eason,Sr., who married Patsy Welch in Morgan County, GA in 1812.Maybe Thomas and Rice were
brothers?
Have you checked out the site at: www.genforum.com/surnames/
Just enter Eason, or whatever name you're researching and check out the postings. It's been the best source for me.
