I am seeking information about the following: Isaac Sanders b abt 1785 in North Carolina. By 1820, he had migrated to Ga. In 1830, he was living in Hall Co, in 1840, Forsyth Co . in 1850 he was living in Cherokee Co Ga near my ggg uncle Jeffrey Sanders (b 1805)who migrated from Rutherford Co NC to Ga before 1840. By 1860, my Jeffrey had moved on to Forsyth Co Ga. By 1870, he had migrated back to Cleveland Co NC which was at one time Rutherford. I think Isaac might be the brother to Jeggrey;s father Moses Sanders who was b 1778 in Montgomery Co NC . His father was James Sanders.
In 1840. living near Isaac in Forsyth Co were John Sanders and James Sanders who I suspect might be his sons. I noticed in another message: a John Sanders Jr. from the same area was of mixed blood. Moses' wife was Prescilla Coker from NC and I understand there is much Native American in the Coker family. Any information on this family would be appreciated.

Sorry about the typo's. My cat was climbing all over the keyboard. Another point: I noticed a Meredith Sanders was also mentioned in a posting. Meredith is a common name in our Sanders family. Jeffrey's brother was Meredith and several of the Sanders on down through the years have used these older male Sanders names: Moses, Greenberry, Meredith, David, James, Robert, Benjamin, Allen, Wade Hill, Crittendon, Oliver, Mark, Wesley, William, John. Twins are very common in our family. Any information would be appreciated.

Hi Jo, I think you might be related to my husband's family. I think he is through James, but I will have to double check. The thing that caught my eye was the twins thing. My husband is a twin and then we had twins and his great Aunts were twins, so it seems there has got to be a connection. I will email back soon.

Thanks for your responce. Will be looking forward to your e-mail on this Sanders family. My Dad was a twin and both his brothers had twins! I do think my James Sanders family is connected to the Rev Moses Sanders of Banks Co Ga.Someone told me that James was the brother of the Rev Moses but I have not confirmed that by documentation. James did name his first son, my gg grandfather, Moses. As I mentioned in another posting: Jeffrey and Allen Drury, sons of Moses and brothers to my Greenberry migrated to Georgia and Alabama in the 1830's.This is a documented fact. My dad was born in Polk once Rutherford Co NC where Moses had most of his children. My Dad's family did not migrate to Ga until the 1920's/ We did visit our Sanders relatives in Alabama in the 1950's/ We visited our NC Sanders clan just abt every year until my dad died in 1986.

Pretty weird those twin things. Okay I did some checking and from what I have our Sanders were from NC from Macon Co, Cherokee Co., Smithbridge, etc. Our James S. Sanders married a Anna Louisa Thomas around 1863 and had at lease one son Monroe Clayton who married Ella Henrietta Jones about 1900. I think James' mother was Lucinda and he had a brother by the name of Washington according to the 1880 census. After Monroe died, Ella moved to GA eventually to Forsyth Co. and never remarried. If this sounds familiar let me know and I will do some more digging!

Our Sanders migrated from Scotland to Va to Montgomery Co NC to Rutherford Co NC later Cleveland and Polk. (Have documentation)
One of my gg Moses' sons moved to Coffee Co Tn (James Wesley) another Jeffrey moved to Cherokee Co Ga then Forsyth, another, Allen, moved to Alabama. The others remained in the Rutherford/Polk/Cleveland Co NC area. Moses 2 daughters married 2 Putnam brothers.Another daughter Lucinda married Joseph Weaver. This was Cleveland Co. Sons David Carson and Meredith lived in Cleveland, too. My Greenberry migrated to Polk Co NC.just a few miles away.
Jeffrey had a son James, who had a son Moses. He was a music teacher like my great grandfather Greenberry, brother to Jeffrey. I will check my data but I do not see familiar names.

I checked my data files and found the following: .Jeffrey had 2 sons while living in Cherokee Co Ga

James b. 1848 who married Lucy abt 1867and had Sarah and George Washington, maybe more.
James had a brother Ambrose who married Nancy and had William Jeffrey and Sterling, possibly more. They were living near each other in the Forsyth Co Ga census/ I have not done a lot of research on them. By 1870, Jeffrey had moved back to Cleveland Co NC.I just concentrated on Cleveland Co after that. Jo
