Attached is a photo of my great great grandfather and his family with his second wife.
Front Row L-R Darcus Ann, Jeptha Marion, William Cager, Mary Adele Harris-Hawkins and Harriett Ann. Back Row L-R Sarah, Gillie, Sam and George Hawkins. This photo was taken in the fall of 1910 and Jeptha died in February 1911 at the age of 84.
Jeptha's grandson and son of Cager Hawkins, Junior sent me the photo.
I have Jeptha's Civil War papers, they are 288 pages long. Many surnames are in his papers. Such as: LARGENT, POSTELL, HARPER, Hawkins, BROWN, MASON, HARRIS, RODDEN, REDDEN, PANTER, PATTERSON, CONNER, BELL, KELL, MCCOY
Family members of Jeptha can be found in Polk, Bradley, Hamilton, McMinn, Rhea, Meigs, etc. counties of Tennessee; Cherokee, Fannin, Forsyth, Gilmer, Union, Towns, Hall, etc. counties of Georgia; Cherokee, Buncombe, Clay, etc counties of North Carolina.

Jeptha was married twice. His first marriage ended with the death of his wife Angeline.

Burial: Union Church Cemetery - Mineral Bluff, Fannin County, GA
Physical: 5’6†tall and weighed about 135 lbs.
Dark hair, Dark complexion and blue eyes.
Military Service: H TN Union-7th Mounted Infantry Regiment
Place of Residence When Enlisted: Isabella, Polk County, TN
Discharge: He was discharged from the service because of varicose veins of the left leg, pneumonia, left lung infection, heart disease and rheumatism
Occupations: He has been listed as a farmer and miner.
Marriages: 1st Angeline Brown* marriage ended in the death of Angeline

Notes on Martha Married James Perry Mason December 18, 1887 in Hamilton County, Tennessee– James and Martha are buried in Hartford, Arkansas. They had eight children. This is Paula Doyle-Bicket’s great grandparents.

Notes on Flora: Flora is found in the 1930 Census of Hamilton County, TN Dist. 3, Dist 77, page 33. Her son Herschel is living with her. He is 22 and she is 74. Living next door is a Hawkins, a male age 59. Living next door to Hawkins is a Bell.

Cager married Minnie Mary HARRIS. Minnie was born 10/27/1904 and died September 30, 1985. They had 13 children. Eight who survive. Cager and Minnie are first cousins. Cager died in February 1971 and is buried in Plant City, Florida

NOTES FROM 1870 & 1880 CENSUS: In the 1870 Census the last name was spelled Hawkins. It shows Angeline being born in Georgia. Daughter; Flora A. was in the census being 16 years old.
In the 1870 Census it shows Jeptha being a coal miner.
In the 1880 Census he is a farmer.
Since the 1870 Census, two children were born: Jeptha M. age 10 and Amanda E. age 6.
It appears that the family lived in the same house on both censuses.
My great grandmother; Lou E. (as name appears in the 1880 Census) is called Louellen in the 1870 Census. I was told that her real name was Martha Lou Ellen Hawkins-Mason
