YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Mrs. Evelyn Robbins, 88, transitioned from time to eternity on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center after an extended illness.
Evelyn was born April 9, 1924, in White Plains, Georgia, (Greene County) the daughter of Evans and Hattie Thomas Moss.
She was married to the late Garfield Robbins.
She was employed at Warren General Hospital for 14 years in the Housekeeping Department.
A faithful, caring member of the Valley Baptist, she was a member of the Usher Board and Sr. Mission.
Along with serving in her church, Evelyn grew great pleasure from spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Robbins leaves to cherish her memory and continue her legacy, her daughter, Beatrice Hudson of Youngstown, Ohio; her 11 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Carolyn Hudson; a son, Clyde Hudson; a great-grandson, Gregory Hudson; a great-granddaughter, Aniya Brantley; as well as two sisters, Janie P. Salvas and Sallie Swain.
Services will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013, at noon at the Valley Baptist Church in Niles, Ohio with the Rev. Larry Scott officiating.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon at the church.
