Wonder if you are still connected to rootsweb. I am trying to determine who the mother of Andrew D McComb (1852-1912) was – either Sarah Harbuck, the first wife of Andrew T McComb (1818-1901), or my gg grandmother, Martha Davis (?-1872). Sometime between 1850 and 1860, my gg grandmother, a widow with several Nichols children, married Andrew T McComb. I think Andrew T was the son of Andrew and Zilphia and the father of the Julia and Georgia mentioned in your post and the widower of Sarah Harbuck. I assume that Sarah Harbuck was the mother of Julia and Georgia McComb. On the 1860 U.S. census for Randolph County, Alabama, Martha and Andrew T. McCombs show with a seven year old son Andrew B (think this should be D) McCombs, several Nichols children including my great grandfather, and a seventeen year old daughter named Georgia, indexed as a Nichols, but I think this was Georgia McComb. She shows at the end of the list of Nichols children; I suspect this was a communication error between enumerator and informant. Do you have any information that might help me? Do you know when Sarah Harbuck McComb died or when Andrew T McComb married Martha Davis Nichols? Thanks for any assistance.
