Just a reminder that I am still hoping to find out more about this family, beyond what's already been posted here. I still have no idea who Alexander's parents were.

Alexander's middle name was Pleasant. He was born 14 Sept 1814 and died 24 Sept 1887. He and Amanda McComb were married 3 Dec 1840.

Amanda C. McComb was born 23 June 1819, and died 8 July, 1893. She was the daughter of Andrew McComb and Zylphia/Zilphey Glenn. (Zylphia is found spelled various ways.) Many descendants spell the name as McCombs, but on Andrew and Zilphia's tombs, it is spelled without the s.

Andrew McComb was born 9 April 1777, and died 16 March 1858. His wife Zilphia was born <1784> and died 15 June 1859.

According to some family history/notes, "Andrew McComb's mother was a Criswell; and Zylphia's maiden name was Watkins. She had been married twice before - once to a Williams and once to a Glenn."

(Their marriage was recorded in Richmond County, GA as Andrew McComb to Zilpha Glenn on 28 Nov. 1813.)

Andrew and Zilpha/Zilphey/Zilphia had five children: Thomas, John, Seaborn, Amanda, and Zilphia.

Amanda C. McComb and Alexander P. Daniel had twelve children: John Anderson, Mary E., William F., Missouri, Rufus A., Zilphia, Julia, Sarah, Rebecca, Joseph, Lucy, and Martha.

I have further info on most of these children, including who they married, if anyone wants it. Most of them lived in or near Heard County, but Zilphia married James E. Edwards and they moved to Texas; Joseph also lived in Texas, where he had a photography studio in Ft. Worth. William F. died in the Civil War, of measles, and Rufus died as a child.

Andrew and Zilpha McComb, Alexander and Amanda Daniel, and several of their children and other descendants are buried at Salem UMC Cemetary in Heard County.
