We are looking for other EATON descendants/relatives that were in the Habersham and Lumpkin area 1800+ to approx late 1840's. My 3rd great grandfather, Samuel Kimsey Eaton b. abt 1805 GA, is in the Habersham 1830 Census abt age 25. Listed next door is a William Eaton age 45 (father or relative?), does anyone have any information about either? There are 2 Samuel's, and 2 William Eaton's listed in the 1838 Lumpkin Census. I'm guessing the Samuel with a family of 6 is my relative. Then in 1840, Samuel is in the 1840 Lumpkin Census, as a family of seven. The ages from this census match ages in later census records giving names to children. This family is missing to date in 1850, and we're thinking may have been part of the 49'ers that left for other gold digs? This is due to family notes that say he panned for gold in CA, in addition to GA. The family migrates to NE AL late in the 1850's and settled in Franklin and Winston Co AL. These families were noted as Baptist's, and should have relatives, and records of their time spent in GA. We really need to connect with anyone who might help track this trail. Would certainly appreciate anything that could be shared! THANKS
