Surnames: Hardy, Hardie, Hardee
Hello,

My name is Rod Hardee. I live in Roswell GA. I am searching for information on relatives who lived in Macon County and central Georgia:

Theophilus Hardy (Hardee, Hardie) - 1860 Census lists him as "Merchant"; probably born in Washington County, Georgia.

Elizabeth Veal Hardy (Hardee, Hardie) - probably born in Wilkinson or Washington County, Georgia.

Robert A. Hardy (Hardee) Robert A. Hardee's 1893 obituary in Griffin GA indicates he was born in Montezuma GA (1851) and lived there until 1873, when he moved to Griffin.

Clifford Veal Hardy (Hardee) (female)

They all three show up in Macon County on the 1860 Federal Census. The only other information I have shows Theophilus and Elizabeth Hardy in Stewart County Georgia on the 1850 Federal Census. I suspect he was the son of Theophilus Hardie (Hardee), who was a preacher in Stewart County in the early 1830's.

I have not found any mention of them in "The History of Macon County Georgia" by Louise Frederick Hays. I am looking for any information or suggestions of where else I should look in Macon County. Any help or suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Rod Hardee
