LIEUTENANT JOHN ALFRED COFFEE Marshallville, Ga.
October 24, 1918 - Lieutenant John A. Coffee was buried here today with full military honors. Aviators from Souther Field were in attendance. Planes flew over the cemetery
during the service as a tribute to Lt. Coffee.
He had served on the Mexican Border for a short period, then transferred to Camp Butler and Camp Harris, Ga. At
Wilbur Wright Field, Dayton, Ohio, took instructions in "Aviation, and was sent from there to Payne Field, West Point, Miss., as Instructor. Was killed in an areoplane accident October 18, 1918. He was a son of Mr. & Mrs. John Henry Coffee.
