Geneva A. Cunningham:
You supplied me with the name of Sampson Cunningham who married Martha Collins earlier as being the parents of William T. Cunningham.
In looking through records prior to 1838 Macon Co., Ga. Tax Digest showing James W. Cunningham owning 900 acres of land in Macon Co. including Lot Nos. 88/29th & 120/29th Dist. of Macon Co., Originally Lee Co., Ga.
This same James W. Cunningham was turning in taxes for Martha Cunningham for 202 & 1/2 acres, Land Lot No. 243/29 th Sumter Co., Ga. and 250 Acres Lot No. 29/5th Dist. of Early Co., Ga.
This tells us that Sampson Cunningham is most likely deceased at this point [1837] and her son, James W. Cunningham is looking out for her interest.
This also tells us that they lived on the most south western tip of Macon Co., Ga. Martha had probably moved in with James W. but still owned the land that she acquired at the death of her husband, Sampson.
Wish I could find more to help you.
