Looking for any TAUNTON individuals who lived in Macon Co. during the early to mid-1800s, but specifically interested in Henry TAUNTON (b. c1770, NC), Newsom TAUNTON (b. c1790s, NC), and Jackson TAUNTON (b. 1828, GA). Jackson was shot and killed by William CHILDREE in 1851 in Macon Co. Other than a warrant for William CHILDREE's arrest issued by the Governor, I've been able to find nothing on Jackson's death. Does anyone know of any newspaper archives, etc., where I might be able to find an account of this?
