MR. JOE ELLIS DIES NEAR ELLAVILLE

PROMINENT CITIZEN PASSES ON THURSDAY OF LAST WEEK
The sad intelligence was received here Wednesday of the death of Mr. Joe Ellis, which occurred at his home near Ellaville, one week ago last Thursday.
Mr. Ellis was 70 years of age and a leading citizen of his community. He was exceedingly popular and numbered his friends by the score.
The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Fanny Ellis, twelve children, thirty two grand children and one great grand child.
Mr. Ellis was well and favorably known in Oglethorpe, where he had many friends who are indeed grieved at his demise.
The funeral and interment took place at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Friday morning. Rev. J. J. Sanders
conducted the services.
