There are NO DRAUGHON families in Macon Co., Ga. in
1850 also none in Taylor 1850 since Taylor was not formed
until 1852.
The 1830 Ga. Census Index lists several Draughon families in Jones Co., Ga.
The 1st mention I find in Macon Co., Ga. is a Deed from Thomas J. Taunton of Macon Co., Ga. to Solomon T. Draughon of Taylor Co., Ga. Lot 231/1st Dist. Orig. Muscogee, Now Macon Co., Ga.[Today, this lot is in Taylor Co., Ga.]
In the 1860 Census Macon Co., Ga. Thomas J. Draughon
lives only 6 houses or farms from Celia (Bloodworth) Draughon/Amerson.
DRAUGHON, Thomas J. 53 Farmer 635 NC
Julia 43 SC
Solomon 23 Farm Lab. 2400/150 GA
Rebecca 18 GA
Faitha A. 17 Ga
Louisa 14 GA
Thomas 12 GA
John 7 Ga Should be 10 ?
Marietta 9 GA
William 7 GA
Julia A. 4 GA
Charles 2 GA
There is an Obit for Charles Draughan in 9-5-1935 Citizens & Georgian County newspaper published in Macon Co.,
a Ga. saying he was buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery [Not a marked grave there for him] There should be a Death Certificate filed in Macon Co., Ga.
We need Thomas J. Draughon Family in 1850 Census which would probably list a child that is not in the 1860.
I will be working on this.
