BOARDMAN, Ohio – Services will be Monday, March 12, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the Temple Emmanuel S.D.A. Church for Mr. James Louis Doward, 60, who departed this life Sunday, March 4, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Doward was born Aug. 31, 1951, in Tifton, Georgia, a son of James and Evelyn Hurley Doward.

He was a 1969 graduate of North High School and attended Youngstown State University. He had worked with LTV Steel and was a lineman with Ohio Bell Telephone Company.

A member of the Temple Emmanuel S.D.A. Church, James served in the choir and with the Pathfinders. He enjoyed baseball, collecting electronics and music.
He was an organist and pianist, and enjoyed shopping at the “Village,” as well as riding and conversing with passengers on W.R.T.A.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents of Youngstown, Ohio; a sister, Pamela A. Doward Phillips of Youngstown; two brothers, George (Adrian) Doward of Youngstown and Tyrone A. Doward of Sandusky; nieces Kamela, Tameka, Monique and Desiree; nephews DJ, KeShon, Vidal and Dontae; a special friend, Nita Duncan of Alabama; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald.

Friends may call on Monday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.
