Interested in learning of the relationships of all the early Longs in GA that came from Halifax, NC, living in Wilkes, Washington, Hancock, etc, counties of GA. It appears that my line decends from Arthur Long who was in GA in 1790's. His sons included Littleton and Davis. If only by the process of elimination, I am desperate to know whatever I can about all these Longs. Feel like there is probably a connection to Col Nicholas Long, but am only guessing.
My Davis had a son Richard who fought in the War of 1812 (have his pension records) along with about five more Longs- I think from Washington Co, probably some are brothers and some cousins. Am awaiting response from National Archives for miliary records for all these Longs.
Can you help me?
Thanks, Melinda
