Hi,Thanks so much for the information. I have a copy of the marriage record or application for a marriage license. I am not sure what it is. It list Jane Echols. It also list Lewis Hammock as surety. I have been told that if someone posted a surety bond for a marriage that ist was usually a relative although it could have been a very close friend because apparently the bond was rather expensive and they could lose that money. It would seem that Lewis Hammock would have been related to either Solomon Ray or Jane Echols since he posted the marriage bond. I have searched to find a connection between Jane Echols and the Hammocks and between Solomon Ray and the Hammocks and I can not find a connection where they were related. The Hammocks and the Rays did live very close to each other in Wilkes co Ga in the 1790's. Thanks, Ross
